Who We Are
Nu Sigma Pi Sorority is an Ottawa-based greek organization founded in 1997. For nearly three decades, we have brought together diverse, driven, and well-rounded women who support one another both within our sisterhood and throughout our community.
Our sisterhood is built around six core pillars: academics, athletics, fundraising, philanthropy, sisterhood, and social. These values shape the experiences we share, the connections we build, and the impact we strive to make on our campus and in our community.
At the heart of everything we do is our motto:
United We Are Strong and Successful.

Our History
Nu Sigma Pi was founded on September 14, 1997, by 19 women who shared common interests, values, and goals for the future. Their vision laid the foundation for the sisterhood we know today.
Although our Founding Mothers have since graduated and become alumnae, their legacy continues to shape Nu Sigma Pi and the goals we strive toward. Their commitment to academics, philanthropy, campus involvement, and sisterhood remains at the heart of our organization.
Today, Nu Sigma Pi welcomes women from all four post-secondary institutions in Ottawa. Whether you're attending the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Algonquin College, or La Cité, you are welcome to become part of our sisterhood. We embrace students from every program, every year of study, and every educational path.
More than 25 years and over 510 members later, Nu Sigma Pi continues to grow while staying true to the values on which it was founded. As we look toward the future, we carry the legacy of those who came before us while creating our own chapter in the story of Nu Sigma Pi.
